This is an opportunity within one of Australia's leading accounting and advisory firms.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior management team of the business, you’d play a vital role in the strategic decision making, financial management, and overall business success, as well as leading, mentoring and developing their internal Finance team. Need to have experience within M&A and growing businesses. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance team and have overall responsibility for key finance functions and preparation of financial reports.
  • Lead the development and management of annual firm budgets.
  • Monitoring performance against budget and reporting on financial variances .
  • Design and production of all financial management information for the Executive team, in particular the provision of regular comprehensive financial insights.
  • Implement effective cash flow management practices, including short-term and long-term cash forecasting. Develop strategies to maintain healthy cash reserves, optimise cash utilisation, and manage liquidity risks.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial and operational metrics, including identifying areas for improvement to support achievement of operational goals.
  • Liaise with financiers, ensure efficient treasury operations and proper handling of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with the Remuneration Committee and Executive to design and manage Director remuneration structures, including arrangements with equity holders.
  • Provide financial expertise and support for equity buy-in arrangements, mergers, or acquisitions. Evaluate financial implications and risks for the firm associated with such transactions.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive longer-term financing strategy to support the firm's growth objectives. Assess various financing options, including use of debt and equity finance, .
  • Assist with the capturing, analysis and reporting of data relating to our ESG priorities
  • Review and enhance existing finance function process including implementation of technology and other solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve governance processes relating to the finance function

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • An ability to move between the detail and the strategic requirements of the role demonstrating a willingness to get involved from the top to the bottom.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in driving process improvements and implementing financial systems and tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
