Job description
We’re working with a well-established public practice accounting firm in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs that’s looking for a high-performing Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of complex client work, mentor juniors, and step into a clear pathway toward Supervisor or Manager level.About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end client engagements across a diverse portfolio. You’ll deliver high-quality compliance and advisory outcomes, support and review junior staff, and work closely with Partners on more complex matters. This role suits someone ambitious, technically strong, and ready to take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and HNW individuals.
- Manage client assignments from planning through to completion.
- Advise on advanced tax matters including Div 7A, CGT (with small business concessions), trust streaming, and loss utilisation.
- Provide tailored tax planning strategies for SMEs and investment groups.
- Liaise directly with clients, ATO, and regulators.
- Review work of junior/intermediate staff and provide feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date tax knowledge while meeting productivity and billing KPIs.
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Australian public practice.
- Strong technical expertise across multiple entity types and industries.
- Ability to deliver accurate, client-ready work with minimal revisions.
