Job description

Senior Analyst – Energy Sector - Up to $150,000 + super

We’re partnering with a well-established energy business that is undergoing positive transformation, investment and growth. With a renewed strategic focus and increasing commercial complexity, they are expanding their finance team and are looking for a Senior Analyst to join their corporate office in Sydney's CBD.

This role offers hands-on exposure to financial modelling, cash flow analysis and commercial decision support, working closely with senior finance leaders (including CFO) in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment.

The Role

As a Senior Analyst, you’ll support the Senior FP&A Manager by building and maintaining financial models, analysing performance and helping translate data into meaningful insights.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining integrated financial models across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting outputs using core financial models

  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and analysis for monthly reporting and board packs

  • Partnering with operational and commercial teams to gather, validate and analyse financial data

  • Performing scenario and sensitivity analysis to support business cases and strategic initiatives

  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis for projects and commercial opportunities

About You

You’re an analyst who enjoys working in a model-driven, commercially focused role and wants exposure beyond pure reporting.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong financial modelling skills, including three-statement models
  • 2–4 years’ experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance or professional services

  • Solid Excel capability and a structured, analytical mindset

  • A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with non-finance stakeholders

Why Join?
  • CBD location with flexible working arrangements

  • Exposure to a business going through genuine positive change and growth

  • Hands-on modelling and commercial exposure early in your career

  • Supportive leadership with a focus on development and progression

  • A collaborative, low-ego culture where finance has a seat at the table
