Senior Data Warehouse Analyst - Education

About the Company

This leading Education organisation will work closely with key information owners within the company to understand their data, and how it should be stored to provide long-term analyses and reports to achieve business needs. You will design structures to store this information, develop extract/transform/load (ETL) routines to populate it, and produce data marts etc to drive analytical and visualisation tools.

About the Role

• To manage and develop companies’ data warehouse and associated tools (IBM DataStage and Oracle database) to achieve the business needs of the Organizations in line with its strategic objectives.
• Oversee and support Data Warehouse ETL processes including liaison with IT technical support staff to resolve issues.
• Consult with University staff to identify specific reporting requirements and to recommend appropriate data warehouse solutions, and to ensure they are in line with the University’s strategic objectives.
• Prepare appropriate technical documentation such as ETL and reporting development specifications, process documentation, user support plans etc.
• Management of software components in consultation with the business and IT.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience
• Other duties as directed by the Business Intelligence Manager.
• Any other duties as directed, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position

You will have experience with:

• An equivalent combination of training and experience or a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computing Science, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (3+ years) of relevant Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing development, including

• • Comprehensive requirements gathering and data analysis
  • Dimensional modelling / star schema design
  • Use of ETL toolset(s)
  • Integrating data from both on-premises and cloud sources
  • Oracle SQL skills (both DDL and DML)

• Demonstrated experience in successfully using these technologies to deliver significant value to the business.
