National organisation with affiliations globally are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their ever growing Accounting team based in Sydney City.
You will be joining a well recognised company who are a leading business in their field, a well established however growing team.

This role requires experience of mentoring / overseeing a small team as you will be responsible for managing a team of 3 day to day along with your own work load.
This role would suit a candidate who has had 3+ years experience working in a similar role inc of staff mentoring / management - CPA/CA is not a requirement for this position.
Stakeholder engagement is paramount in this position so experience & evidence in this space would be essential!
The Assistant Accountant position is a critical position within the business, aside from managing staff you will be responsible for:
- preparation of month end accounting;
- supervise reconciliation of the assets for the group
- balance sheet reconciliation
- approval of journals posted to the GL
- preparation of accruals
- oversee the accounts payable function to ensure all payments are made
- oversee accounts payable to ensure staff expenses are made on time and correctly
- back up for reconciliation and preparation for indirect tax reporting:
- GST returns
- Group Tax and IAS returns
- NRWT returns
Outside of the day to day duties you will also be involved in the data cleansing for migration to a new ERP system.
Experience working on a ERP system is essential.
Excellent Excel skills are needed for this role - intermediate level (lookups, pivots, large volume data manipulation).
This role is being offered permanent full time with a salary paying up to $73,000 + super.
