Job description

Our client, a leading Transportation organisation, require a functional Business Analyst to join their team for the upgrade of their core system.  As part of their digital transformation programme, our client is looking for a strong BA with capabilities to work on end-to-end projects, requiring superior Communication and Documentation skills.    
 

Responsibilities will include:  

  • Assist the project manager with the coordination of strategic activities – namely the upgrade of the core allocation and rostering system.   

  • Document and report on progress of assigned tasks and identify risks and issues as they arise.     

  • Work with stakeholders to understand and analyse solutions to business problems.    

  • Identify Transport industry best-practice and develop business requirements for functional and non-functional specifications.    

  • Work on operations, integration, and business process focused projects.    

  • Contribute positively and proactively to the project, and willing to cross functional boundaries and roles to get things done in a flat organisational structure.  

  • Able to work effectively on digital and cloud projects with solid agile practices adhering to lean principles.  

  • Facilitate discussions with SMEs to elicit stakeholder requirements.  
      

To be successful for this position you will need to display:  

  • Minimum 5-years E2E experience as a Functional BA – from preparation of business cases to BAU handover documentation.   

  • Experience in the Transport sector and its operating activities is required – especially with rostering systems, resource allocation and live-run systems.  

  • Testing experience and preparation of test scripts is required. 

  • Expert-level documentation skills around requirements gathering and process mapping.     

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, to interpret conversations and derive deliverables from this.    

  • Understanding of the Microsoft Azure environment.  

  • Experience with Asset Management Systems (e.g. Maximo) is essential.  

  • Proven track record in working in Agile environments.    

  • SDLC and BABOK Qualifications are desired.
