Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven SQL Developer for a 6-month ongoing contract to join a fast paced rapidly expanding financial services company. There are a number of significant development tasks in the pipeline so the successful candidate must have a positive and upbeat attitude.
Main Duties
- Design and develop T-SQL DDL & DML objects, procedures
- Develop underlying data models and databases
- Quickly adapt to the business processes and translate business requirements into software applications
- Take full ownership of assigned tasks and show commitment to deliver on time
Top Competencies
- Exceptional working knowledge of SQL Server 2008 to 2014
- Ensure compliance of standards and conventions in developing programs
- Strong written, verbal, and graphical communications skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
- Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Quick learner and fast-paced
Key Technical Competencies
- Exceptional T-SQL coding skills using advanced techniques;
- Comfortable coding stored procedures, functions, and data definition and manipulation queries
- Metadata management and repository usage
- Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
- Ability to work both independently and with minimal guidance, as well as with a team
- Proactively take up additional responsibilities as required by management
