My client is a well-known, multinational company who are one of the leading consumer goods companies in the world who combine the strength and scale of a large, multi-national business with an expert, local knowledge of the customers they serve support. They are recruiting an Assistant Accountant basis for an immediate start.

 

Here lies an exciting opportunity to fast track your career as an Assistant Accountant on a permanent contract who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Controller and be primarily responsible for the GL work and month end reporting.

  • Responsible for performing General Ledger reconciliations and taking responsibility for assigned balance sheet accounts. In addition, identify potential impacts and implications of all areas affecting assigned balanced sheet accounts.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of month end, the analysis of financial variances and cost centre allocations for Australian business
  • Prepare journal entries and compile account reconciliations ensuring the accurate and timely processing of income and expense allocations.
  • Complete Intercompany confirmations and reconciliations
  • Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives and eliminate non-value adding activities continuously and undertake other projects and tasks on an ad-hoc basis
  • Ensure timely and accurate month reporting and complete general monthly accruals; obtain accrual information from various departments by month end.
  • Support the facilitation of all internal and external audit processes and act as a key point of contact for auditors
  • Contribute to SOX compliance

 

About You:

 

The ideal Candidate will;

  • University degree qualified and working towards CA/CPA
  • Technically strong accounting knowledge
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to the team
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills required
