Fund Accountant

  • CBD-based, >10 mins walk from the station
  • 4-month contract (with possible extension)
  • Immediate Start, Hybrid working

 

One of the largest prestigious investment banks is currently looking for a Fund Accountant to join their team based in Sydney CBD.

You will be responsible to support the team and manage relationships with investors including assessing and implementing investment decisions and monitoring the investment performance of the funds.

The office is conveniently located just 10mins walk away from the train station in the CBD.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare portfolio activity, portfolio analysis, client valuations and client-specific reporting on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Establish and maintain a great working relationship with custodians/administrators, portfolio managers, auditors, and other key business stakeholders.
• Review the fund distribution calculations prepared by the custodian on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis depending on the fund’s distribution frequency.
• Review financial statements, BAS, trust tax returns and other information for submission to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Australian Taxation Office and Australian Bureau of Statistics.
• Review the monthly management expense ratio (MER) to ensure the proper calculation of management fees by the administrator.
• Review and analyse any variances in financial information and perform ad-hoc analysis

 

You will also be assisting and supporting the Fund Accounting function for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual key deliverables and reporting.

As a Fund Accounting Specialist, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the accurate valuation and daily pricing of our funds, reviewing the distribution calculations of the funds, and ensuring the correct disclosures in the financial statements.

 

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree level qualification in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline preferred
  • Accounting qualification CPA/CA
  • Good understanding of the Fund industry: custodian or asset management industry.
  • Experience with Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, Australian tax law and ABS reporting.
