About the Company

This large, prestigious, independent school have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Operations Assistant and PA. This role is really varied and requires strong project skills. Reporting into the Vice Principal & Director of Corporate Services, who are both very well-respected, this integral role will work closely with a well-tenured administrative team and will offer a wealth of variety including the chance to be involved in collaborating on key initiatives. This high performing and innovative college is based in the Inner Eastern suburbs among impressive grounds and offers a supportive and collaborative culture. The college comprises of 4 schools, with over 2,000 students and approximately 800 staff. About the role;

  • Provide high level, professional and confidential administrative/ secretarial support to the Vice Principal and Director of Corporate Services.
  • Effectively communicate and build strong relationships internally across the college and with key suppliers.
  • Pivotal involvement in project work for the Director of Corporate Services, including operational oversight of outsourced contracts.
  • Assist the Vice Principal with key processes and documentation associated with:
    • College Tours
    • Allowances
    • College Policies and Procedures
    • Key government agencies
    • Emergency Management
    • Child safety
    • College operational matters
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of correspondence, documentation, reports and presentations.
  • Provide valued support with event preparation & research activities as required.
  • Take a proactive approach in supporting the Vice Principal and Director of Corporate Services managing their time to meet their daily, weekly and future deliverables.
  • Attend to inquiries in a timely and discrete manner.

 

About you;

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated and successful experience in a similar high level administration support role, project role or operational role, within a fast-paced environment.
  • We require the successful candidate to be proactive and hit the ground running, therefore previous experience within the education sector would be desirable and / or professional services.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable
  • Due to the varied nature of this role and the involvement in operational matters, previous experience delivering projects or operational process improvements will be advantageous.
  • Experience in following office procedures and policies.
  • Technology and innovation play a key part in the day-to-day work, therefore advanced knowledge of the MS office suite and SharePoint. 
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, in particular accurate spelling and grammar.
  • The ability to think ‘bigger picture’ and build strong lasting relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • You will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing a heavy workload.
  • You will have a positive and proactive approach to work, and the ability to utilise strong problem-solving skills.
