Opportunity for an experienced Records Officer to join a Local Government authority in Melbourne CBD | 12-month contract ASAP start | $36.81ph- Play a key role in collaborative, agile, information management team

Reporting to the Information Management Lead, the Corporate Records Officer will contribute to the council’s records and information management program. You will ensure incoming correspondence is accurately captured, maintained, and accessible while supporting regulatory compliance, best practice, and PROV retention and disposal requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Register, process, and manage incoming correspondence via mail, digital formats, and other channels.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems in both hardcopy and electronic formats, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
- Support archival and disposal activities in line with PROV retention and disposal authorities.
- Assist internal staff with electronic records systems (Content Manager) and CRM navigation and troubleshooting.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to team projects, daily operational activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in records management, archives, or knowledge management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic records and document management systems (Content Manager or equivalent).
- Knowledge of PROV retention and disposal highly regarded.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High level of computing skills, including system administration capability for EDRMS.
- Ability to research, coordinate, and manage projects to meet agreed timelines and service standards.
- Experience in Local Government is desirable.
