3-month Senior Business Support Officer opportunity to work for a large Council in the Southeast suburbs | $38-$40 per hour

  • Senior Business Support Officer experience essential ideally within Local Government or Council | Procurement, PA and OneCouncil experience will be advantageous
  • Represent a Local Government authority providing excellent service to members of the community 
  • ASAP start | 3-month temporary opportunity
 

Seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Business Support Officer to join a Local Government team on a 3-month basis. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative support to various Council Teams, contributing to various projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative tasks, EA tasks, preparing reports, customer service, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.

 

You will be responsible for:  

Administrative Support:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support,
  • Maintain and update reports, databases, and schedules.
  • Assist in organising internal meetings and external events.
  • Distribute progress reports on council projects.
 

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for external stakeholders, arranging meetings and providing updates on project progress.
  • Offer information and support regarding council initiatives to various teams.
  • Assist in liaising with stakeholders.
 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with both internal project teams and external contacts to ensure smooth communication and alignment.
 

To be successful you will have:   

  • Experience in a local government environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within government setting. Proven ability to manage reports, databases, and produce presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Procurement experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suites and Excel.
  • Proficient in formatting correspondence and Council documents (e.g., reports) in accordance with the corporate style guide.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Council software (OneCouncil).
  • Experience in inputting and maintaining accurate information in Council databases in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
