Data Migration Manager


About the Role

The responsibilities of Data Migration Manager entails managing large complex program while ensuring an aligned and organised effort is made for the end to end migration across the multiple workstreams of the program. Being the senior leader with broad knowledge base of the data migration vertical you will work closely with Project Managers, Data Migration Leads and Testing Resources to look after, enable cohesive planning, link the key interdependencies and facilitate problem resolution.
 

  • Work-streams:
  1. Financial & Operating Integration Stream
  2. Technical Integration Stream
  3. Application Access & Identity Stream
  • Maintain an effective communication between all the affected stakeholders to provide them the right information about all inter-dependencies and key timings of data migration processes between work-streams.
  • Ensure sound testing of data migration processes is undertaken by working closely with the testing team and migration test resources.
  • Manage data cleansing tasks, balancing the need for data quality and the need to meet set deadlines by working with stream data resources and business representatives
  • Work with the cutover team to ensure data migration tasks are appropriately incorporated and timed as part of the dress rehearsal and go-live cutover plans
  • Provide assurance regarding the validity of data migration processes and operation across the program
  • Provide regular status reporting, tracking/completion metrics
  • Focus on the customer experience; assist the change team in understanding impacts of data migration to be communicated to end-user communities
  • Oversee build of migration tools and testing to schedule


Skills & Experience
 

  • 7+ years’ experience as a leader in a similar data migration management role; bringing together resources from multiple projects or work-streams
  • Previous experience must be in large scale, enterprise environments with complex integration
  • Previous experience in any of applications transformations projects, working knowledge of ERP systems/processes or SAP specific data migration. (Note: this role calls on broad data migration knowledge, not a resource who only has exposure within SAP)
  • Demonstrated ability and technical skills to be “hands-on” when required, to get the job done
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to start
