Job description
- 18 month fixed term contract role
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders and internal stakeholders
- Redevelop safety & well-being framework
This local government authority are seeking a professional to join their team immediately. Reporting to the Risk & OHS Coordinator, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the redevelopment of Safety & Well-being framework. The incumbent have previous experience working within a safety environment, managing projects, developing safety & well-being policies & conflict resolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review of the current safety management framework
- Engaging with all departments across Council in order to understand their roles
- Developing the health & wellbeing program including policies & procedures
- Rolling out safety reports & controls as well as training across the business
- Assisting with the implementation and roll out of OHS projects throughout departments
- Guiding staff through processes including effective prevention and management practices
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
- Previous experience delivering advice on OHS matters within a busy, multifaceted environment
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Health & Safety
- Sound knowledge of legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS
- Excellent communications skills - both written & verbal
