  • 18 month fixed term contract role

This local government authority are seeking a professional to join their team immediately. Reporting to the Risk & OHS Coordinator, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the redevelopment of Safety & Well-being framework. The incumbent have previous experience working within a safety environment, managing projects, developing safety & well-being policies & conflict resolution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review of the current safety management framework 
  • Engaging with all departments across Council in order to understand their roles
  • Developing the health & wellbeing program including policies & procedures 
  • Rolling out safety reports & controls as well as training across the business
  • Assisting with the implementation and roll out of OHS projects throughout departments
  • Guiding staff through processes including effective prevention and management practices


The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
  • Previous experience delivering advice on OHS matters within a busy, multifaceted environment
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Health & Safety
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS  
  • Excellent communications skills - both written & verbal
