Job description
Excellent Business Unit Accountant role based in CBD.
The role will involve the following:-
(30%) Decision Support:
- Maintain and update cost centre and product hierarchy in TM1 for product area
- Assist with financial analysis to support business cases
- Build and maintain financial models to support pricing decisions
- Build and maintain financial models as directed by the BUF Manager
- Develop tools to enable in depth analysis of results and trends as agreed with the BU head, this may include analysis of:
- Client segments
- Product value chains
- Customer or product profitability
- Provide information to FR&C as required to support central product and client profitability reporting
(30%) Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Prepare Budget models
- Assist in analysis of inputs, particularly transaction drivers (or similar)
- Submit BU Budgets to Business Advisory & Support in accordance with the Budget timetable and in the required format
- Prepare reporting on budget submissions, including status against target
- Prepare and maintain BU forecast models
- Prepare BU forecasts
(40%)Monthly Reporting:
- Ensure the monthly P&L and balance sheet prepared and provided by FR&C for their business unit is complete and accurate
- Advise FR&C of accruals required
- Submit commentary to Business Advisory and; Support for central reporting
- Provide reporting for BUF Manager and BU heads summarising results for the month, YTD and forecast
- Assist with review of General Ledger reconciliations if required Validate billing volumes within timeframes set by FR&A
Requirements of the successful candidate:-
Critical
- More than 3 years experience within a management accounting or FP&A team
- More than 3 years in an Accountant, Commercial Analyst or Financial Analyst role
- Relevant university degree (Bachelor of Commerce) or equivalent tertiary qualification
Desirable
- Experience within retail banking or payments CA/CPA
