Business Unit Accountant

The role supports the Business Unit Finance Manager in the delivery of quality advice and information to support their allocated business unit to meet and

exceed their financial targets in the short, medium and long term.

(40%)Monthly Reporting:-

• Assist the manger with the review of monthly P&L and balance sheets for their business unit for completeness and accuracy
• Advise Financial Reporting & Control (FR&C) of accruals or adjustments as required
• Submit commentary to Business Advisory & Support for central reporting
• Provide reporting for BUF Manager and BU heads summarising results for the month, YTD and forecast
• Assist with FR&C queries as required e.g. from General Ledger reconciliations reviews

(30%) Forecasting & Budgeting:-

• Prepare and maintain BU budget / forecast models as required
• Assist in analysis of inputs, particularly transaction drivers (or similar)
• Submit BU Budgets to Business Advisory & Support in accordance with the Budget timetable and in the required format
• Prepare reporting on budget / forecast submissions, including status against target

(30%) Decision Support:-

• Assist with financial analysis to support business cases
• Maintain and update cost centre and product hierarchy in TM1 for product area
• Build and maintain financial models to support pricing decisions
• Build and maintain financial models as directed by the BUF Manager
• Develop tools to enable in depth analysis of results and trends as agreed with the BU head, this may include analysis of:
• Client segments
• Product value chains
• Customer or product profitability
• Assist the BUF manager with process improvement initiatives

Requirements of the successful candidate:-

Requirements:-

• More than 3 years’ experience within a management accounting or FP&A team; or
• More than 3 years in an Accountant, Commercial Analyst or Financial Analyst role; or
• Senior Analyst or equivalent in a Chartered environment (with minimum 6 months as a Senior Analyst)
