  • Immediate start - initial one month contract opportunity with possibility for extension 


We have a rare and exciting opportunity to work for a multifaceted, fast paced local government authority. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the primary function of the role will be to provide assistance with return to work across the business 

Responsibilities will include; 

  • Supporting ill and injured workers in their return to work
  • Coordinate WorkCover claims and injury cases as required 
  • Assist manager in minimising Council's workers'compensation insurance premium 
  • Provide support & advice to managers and internal stakeholders, ensuring adherence to legislation, policies & procedures.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of injury reduction strategies and initiatives
  • Analyse data related to injury and identify trends to communicate to the wider business

To be successful in this role; 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety as well as relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Victorian Worker's Compensation Scheme
  • Previous experience working in local government would be advantageous 
  • Problem solving skills to assist with complex WorkCover matters
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
