Job description
- Experienced Library Technician - $47.90ph + super
- 4 April – 29 September 2022 initial contract (view to extend)
- Government role – CBD Location
We are looking for someone with library or academic research experience, particularly in the legal sector for an initial 5 month contract with view to extend.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to requests for information in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide assistance to department staff in the use of internet based legal research programs such as Westlaw AU, Lexis Advance, Westlaw International, JIRS and Jade Professional
- Provide assistance in the use of other resources such as Google Scholar, electronic journals and legislative materials.
- Coordinating, managing and maintaining records/databases
- Liase with legal research vendors regarding technical issues, troubleshooting, platform changes and content updates
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
About you
- Library or academic research experience is essential
- Law library experience is preferred
- Enthusiastic with an ability to multitask and work in a busy environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant qualifications or experience
